Although some reviewers like the guys from HiFi Choice thought that the Minima Vintage offered a warm sound …"here it sounds expressive, subtle and unboxy, with a typical Sonus Faber warmth and grace…" IssueI couldn't confirm these findings after my audition in the reference system.
Fabulous sub-compact designed for stand mounting has a warmth and grace that epitomizes the finest of the Italian loudspeaker craft, with a solid wood and leather dressed enclosure to match. Classic loudspeaker reintroduced, with an impressive musical presentation that seems particularly in tune with classical and acoustic music genres. Make no mistake, the Sonus Faber Minima Vintage is an absolute joy to use for any period of time.
Showcased at the KJ West One high-end hi-fi store in conjunction with specialist UK distributor Absolute Sounds, Sonus Faber claims its new Homage Tradition collection is designed to combine the best of classic Italian design with contemporary luxury style - while introducing improvements to sound quality along the way. Continuing the tradition of naming its speakers after famous Italians, the Serafino speakers pay tribute to Santo Serafino, an 18th century Venetian master of violin-making. Another speaker - called the Vox, and presumably the centre channel speaker - is due to be announced too. The speakers all feature a lute-shaped design, which gives the speakers larger volumes and allows the cabinets to better control internal resonances.
Ever since we planned to move into a house, I have been thinking about changing my speakers out as well. As some of you may know, i have a pair of fairly new Sonus faber Venere 1. One thing I fear though is possible damage to them as I play them fullrange, and even at the lower volumes I play in our apartment, I have heard them approaching their limits.

Fabulous sub-compact designed for standmounting has a warmth and grace that epitomises the finest of the Italian loudspeaker craft, with a solid wood and leather dressed enclosure to match. The Sonus Faber Minima was the company's first loudspeaker and it has been reintroduced to the market in its original form. Aficionados will be familiar with this model, but others are in for a treat.
I t is not easy to establish when exactly was Sonus Faber founded. The only thing Frank Serblin said was that he thought that he created his first design in Then in he was joined by Cesare Bevilacqua, who took over company's finances. Another important date in company's history —a year when the most famous model of Sonus Faber loudspeakers — Guarnieri - was introduced.
